Consolidated Theatres announced recently that they have extended their lease on the Consolidated Theatres Ward with TITAN XC in Honolulu, Hawaii, and plans to compete a full renovation of the movie theater. The theater is located in the Ward Village planning community in the middle of Honolulu which is combining shopping and dining with two new residential towers.

The plans were announced in a press release issued by Reading International, Inc., the parent company of Consolidated Theatres:

“We are excited and honored to further our long history of providing stellar entertainment in Hawai‘i at our theatre at Ward Village,” said Ellen Cotter, Chief Executive Officer of Reading International. “To better serve our guests, we will be upgrading our Ward Theatres to offer an even better movie-going experience with new seats, dining options, cutting-edge technology and more.”

The renovations will result in a second TITAN XC auditorium, large powered reclining seats with reserved seating in some auditoriums, and an updated lobby. Bruce Seidel and Chef Santos Loo from the Food Network will be creating an enhanced food and drink menu (including beer and wine selections), which will be available this spring.

The press release does not mention when the renovations will be complete, but since it does not say that the theater will be closing for the renovations, we're assuming that they will be ongoing while the theater continues to show movies.
