Two and a half years after the Starplex Cinemas - Robinson Crossing 6 in Norman, Oklahoma closed, the theater reopened on December 24, 2015 as the Evans Theatres - Robinson Crossing 6.
According to an article published by NewsOK earlier in December, Josh Evans and his father Marty Evans have been working since September to get the new theater open:
Closed for the past two years with a leaky roof, the Robinson Crossing 6 movie theater was in bad shape when the Evans family first walked through the door.
Josh Evans and father Marty Evans have worked 12-hour-plus days since September to clean, paint and put new carpet in the theater. Mother Pam Evans and three more of the Evans family of nine biological and adopted children also have been working on the theater.
After months of work, they hope to have Robinson Crossing 6 open by Friday.
The article goes on to mention that they replaced all the seats, because the old ones were damaged by water leaking through the roof. Click the Read link below to view the full article.
The theater is owned by RAE Entertainment Group, which was formed by Martin and Pamella Evans. They conducted a fundraising campaign on crowd-funding site Indiegogo.com earlier in 2015, and raised a total of $23,470 from supporters (they were hoping to raise $15,000).
Rather than compete head-on with the Regal Spotlight Stadium 14 right across the road, they will be showing second-run movies at discount prices. For example, you can see a daytime show of The Peanuts Movie for just $2.
