|Home: BigScreen Journal - Martin Scorcese Urges Moviegoers to Silence Cell Phones in Theaters|
Academy Award-winning director, writer, and producer Martin Scorcese is urging moviegoers to not interrupt the movie with their cell phones in a spot that appears before the movie starts.
The spot is being shown in theaters using National CineMedia's FirstLook digital pre-feature program, including Regal Cinemas, AMC Entertainment, Cinemark, and Loews theaters.
It features a woman talking with her husband and as she passes the phone to her son to say good night, Scorcese interrupts their conversation as if he is directing them in a movie. The final message cards state "We won't interrupt your phone calls. Don't interrupt our movies."
