|Home: BigScreen Journal - Blockbuster Stocks Blu-ray Across North America|
Blockbuster announced last week that they would be stocking shelves in 5,000 stores across the U.S. and Canada with Blu-ray high definition discs, which is an expansion from a rollout last year to 1,700 stores.
To publicize the availability of the high definition discs, each store will feature a Blu-ray kiosk with a 42" HDTV and PlayStation 3 console, presumably with a demo explaining the technology and the advantages of Blu-ray over standard definition DVD.
While I'll continue to use Netflix for my Blu-ray and DVD rental needs, it is nice to see a brick-and-mortar chain embrace high definition discs in a bigger way.
