The Atlanta Business Chronicle is reporting that when the AMC Avenue Forsyth opens on May 16, 2008, it will be featuring digital projection featuring Sony's 4K projection system.

The 12-screen theater is located at Ga. 400 & Peachtree Parkway (Hwy. 141) in Cummings, Georgia, in The Avenue Forsyth development. According to the article:

AMC Avenue Forsyth 12 is the first all-digital theater in the area and has Sony 4K digital cinema projectors that create images with more than four times the resolution of HDTV. Two auditoriums have screens that are more than three stories high and 50 feet wide.

The complex will have 12 auditoriums with more than 2,200 seats that feature "rocking" backs and lifting cupholder armrests. The auditoriums also will have stadium seating with 18-inch risers and 48-inch row spacing for unobstructed views.

Guests who attend the theater on its opening weekend will be treated to a free small popcorn with each ticket purchased.
