The Buffalo, New York area will be getting a new movie theater! The Regal Cinemas Walden Galleria Stadium 16 will open to the public on Thursday, May 22nd, and Regal Cinemas is planning a grand opening event to celebrate.
The 16-screen theater will be able to serve almost 3,000 patrons, and offers standard amenities, such as stadium seating and rocking chairs with movable armrests.
The festivities begin on Sunday, May 18 with low priced movies and concessions, with the proceeds benefitting local charities.

Regal Entertainment Group Announces Grand Opening Details for Walden Galleria Stadium 16

KNOXVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Regal Entertainment Group (NYSE: RGC), a leading motion picture exhibitor owning and operating the largest theatre circuit in the United States, today announced grand opening details for the new Regal Cinemas Walden Galleria Stadium 16. The new theatre will host preview events for three full days to benefit local charities beginning Sunday, May 18. The official grand opening will be Thursday, May 22 with special offers and the latest first-run films. Regal Walden Galleria will also offer a special advance screening of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull Wednesday night at 12:01.
“We are proud to bring moviegoing back to Walden Galleria with our new facility. Regal Cinemas Walden Galleria Stadium 16 will attract patrons from all across the region,” stated Dick Westerling, Regal Entertainment Group Senior Vice President of Marketing and Advertising. “Walden Galleria is a terrific location, and we are excited to add this entertainment destination to the variety of retail and dining options available at the mall.”
The modern movie theatre with 16 screens covers 82,000 square feet and includes approximately 3,000 seats. Moviegoers will enjoy stadium seating, with each row elevated for an unobstructed view, and plush high-back rocking chairs featuring cupholder armrests which move out of the way to form seats for two.
Everyone is invited to enjoy this new entertainment destination on Sunday, May 18; Monday, May 19; and Tuesday, May 20. These preview events will feature $2 movies, $1 popcorn and $1 soft drinks with proceeds benefiting local charities. Each preview event includes a selection of themed movies for the day, beginning with a salute to Buffalo’s rich history in the movie industry.
