|Home: BigScreen Journal - 35 New Photos for Disney-Pixar's "Up"|
The new photos include many stills from the movie as well as photos from the Cannes Film Festival in France on Wednesday. This is the first time in the Film Festival's 62-year history that an animated movie has opened the festival.
This is the latest animated movie from Disney Pixar since the successful release last year of Wall-E, which won an Academy Award for Original Screenplay and was nominated for four others. That movie went on to earn a worldwide gross of over $523 million from its $180 million budget. Roger Ebert has come out and said that Up is a "wonderful film" and goes on to glow about it in his Journal entry for the Chicago Sun-Times. That certainly bodes well for everyone looking forward to its release!
Some theaters already have showtimes and tickets available for opening day and weekend, so be sure to buy your tickets in advance for what is sure to be a popular movie that weekend! The movie will also be available in 3D at theaters with the right equipment, so if 3D effects and really cool-looking glasses are your thing, check out the showtimes and details for Up in Disney Digital 3D.
In addition to the photos, we also have trailers, TV spots, and clips from the movie on the Trailers & Videos page, so check those out and see what the creative geniuses at Pixar have been up to lately!
