The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that the Marcus Rivoli Cinema in Cedarburg, Wisconsin will stop showing movies daily by the end of 2006.

But the Rivoli is slated to be renovated by its new owner, the Cedarburg Landmark Preservation Society Inc. It is hoped that in addition to special summer and winter family film series, the restored theater will attract live performances from area theater groups, recitals, dance performances and lectures, society President Donald A. Levy said. The society plans to return the Rivoli to its original 1930s appearance by restoring its façade and marquee. A "Revive the Rivoli" campaign has been started for that purpose.
