|Home: BigScreen Journal - Louisville, KY: Kenwood Drive-In Fails to Re-open for the Summer|
"The (Kenwood) drive-in has been closed because it is no longer financially viable," said Tracy King, spokeswoman for Massachusetts-based National Amusements.
The company is willing to sell it for other development although King declined to give an asking price or say whether it would sell it to another company if it planned to reopen it as a theater.
Karen Hamrick, an investor in Southern Lights Entertainment in Jacksonville, Fla., said her company would like to buy the Kenwood property and reopen it as a drive-in, but she hadn't heard back from National Amusements after leaving messages.
Georgetown Drive-In Theatre in Georgetown, Indiana, which is about 14 miles away.
