TV Guide Network to Air Patrick Swayze "Dirty Dancing" Interview Tonight

Posted on Thursday, September 17th, 2009 11:05 AM. Last Updated on Thursday, September 17th, 2009 1:31 PM by Scott Jentsch

With the recent passing of actor Patrick Swayze, the TV Guide Network has been airing related content this week. Tonight at 8pm ET/PT, they will be showing "Patrick Swayze: The Unseen Interview," in which the actor recounts his favorite moments from Dirty Dancing and his experiences with his fellow cast members.

In their press release, TV Guide Network says that the interview is from the special 20th Anniversary DVD edition of Dirty Dancing (the same content appears on the Blu-ray edition as well).

"A lot of people say this was a movie about the loss of innocence. And I believe it was a movie about the rediscovery of innocence," said Swayze during the interview. "Sometimes a movie encapsulates a period or a moment in all of our lives in such a way that it never dies. And I think ‘Dirty Dancing’ did that."

Patrick Swayze died at the age of 57 on Monday, September 14, 2009 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. He appeared in 35 movies, including Dirty Dancing with Jennifer Grey and Jerry Orbach, Ghost with Demi Moore and Whoopi Goldberg, and Next of Kin with Liam Neeson, and received three Golden Globes, according to his IMDb profile.

RIP Patrick Swayze. I remember seeing the movie "Ghost" when I was just in high school. Its a big loss for the movie industry. After a long battle with pancreatic cancer, the actor Patrick Swayze has passed away. He was 57 years of age. Patrick Swayze was diagnosed in 2008 with stage 4 cancer, and it metastasized to his liver. Pancreatic cancer is one of the most aggressive forms, with less than 5% of patients surviving 5 years, most succumbing within 6 months of diagnosis. Swayze leaves behind an intimidating body of work, including smashing successes in blockbuster films, hit TV shows, and even a few highly regarded indie appearances and stage work. He will certainly be sorely missed.
