After running across some videos on YouTube about the comparison between pan and scan and letterbox versions of widescreen movies, I thought they were worth adding to our Help section.
The document Why am I seeing black bars when I watch movies? now has both videos, as well as some new information about the fact that some premium movie channels are still compromising movies, even on the HD versions of their channels.
Give the document a look and see why black bars are a good thing and why you should demand to see the entire movie, not just a portion of it!
