The Cleveland Plain Dealer has an article that mentions that married actors Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman will be attending the grand re-opening of the Apollo Theatre in Oberlin, Ohio on Saturday, October 3, 2009.

DeVito and Perlman became involved because one of their children attends Oberlin. You remember DeVito as Louie on "Taxi." Currently, he stars in the cable series "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." Perlman was the caustic waitress Carla on "Cheers."

DeVito said he remembered being brokenhearted when the old movie palaces of his childhood were demolished. He applauded Oberlin's efforts to give the Apollo new life.

The theater closed in July for renovations that were funded by DeVito and other donors (the donations also purchased the theater). It will show first-run movies on a single screen and will be operated by Cleveland Cinemas.
