The Wisconsin State Journal is reporting that the proposed 16-screen movie theater in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin has been approved by the City Council on December 15, 2009.

We reported in September that Marcus had purchased the land for this transaction, which followed a failed effort to develop a parcel closer to the Marcus Eastgate Cinemas in Madison, Wisconsin, which this project is intended to replace.

According to the article (click the Read link below), construction could begin as early as Spring 2010 if Marcus applies for the building permits and they are approved. Marcus has not committed to a schedule for construction at this time.
