The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel is reporting that the developers behind the Bayshore Mall renovation are once again pushing the idea of having a movie theater as part of the mix of shopping and entertainment options planned for the new area.

The developers say the complex will not be a traditional movie theater, a concept that has been vociferously opposed by both Bayshore neighbors and city officials, largely because of past problems with fighting at the cinema at Mayfair Mall in Wauwatosa.

Steiner + Associates, the lead developer of the project, is proposing an upscale complex that would draw adults and would be used for business seminars during the week and as a dinner theater and cinema on weekends.

The Bayshore Mall is less than one mile from the Fox Bay Cinema Grill, which is a three-screen theater that serves food and drinks during the movie. The city has stated that the proposal could be presented to officials in September for a vote.
