The Business Journal of Milwaukee is reporting that IPic Theatres at Bayshore Town Center in Glendale, Wisconsin has converted all of its screens to be capable of showing 3D movies, with the debut performance being Alice in Wonderland in Disney Digital 3D.
All six screens in the movie theater will be able to show movies in 3D using XpanD's system that utilizes active glasses to translate the 3D images (as opposed to passive glasses used by Dolby's 3D solution). An example of the XpanD glasses can be seen in the graphic to the left.
Most theaters charge extra to see movies in 3D and the IPic is no exception. According to their web site, the price for an adult evening general admission seating for a 3D show is $12.50, which is $3 more than a non-3D ticket for an adult in the same timeframe. We have updated their Ticket Prices page to reflect this new pricing.
