|Home: BigScreen Journal - Now Listing Showtimes for All U.S. Theaters!|
Back in January 1995, The BigScreen Cinema Guide started out with very humble beginnings. Originally named The Penguin Cinema Guide, it listed movie showtimes for theaters only in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin metropolitan area.
From there it expanded to cover showtimes for all theaters in Wisconsin, and then to a gradually-increasing number of theaters across the United States. This gradual approach allowed us to concentrate on delivering an excellent publication without the high costs of delivering showtimes for all theaters in the country. This also allowed us to become very familiar with the theaters for which we were listing showtimes, and we were able to publish a higher quality web site as a result.
But there was always that disclaimer "we don't carry showtimes for every theater in the country" and it was time to put that to rest. Quite some time ago, we started preparing for the day when we could go nationwide; with no asterisks and no disclaimers. And last week, the planning and preparing was over, the contract was signed, and the switch was thrown.
From sea to shining sea, we've got your movie theater covered!
To see all the theaters listed in The BigScreen Cinema Guide, just head over to The Marquee and visit any one of the sections, depending on if you like your listings nearby, by region, or if you want to search for them.
We're very proud to be able to remove those disclaimers and start serving everyone the showtimes they're looking for, backed by the best publication of its kind! At least it's the best in our humble opinions...
But there is always room for improvement, and that's where you come in. One of our hallmarks is that we encourage feedback from our readers through our Feedback Form. I read every single message sent in via that form, and I answer every message that needs a reply. You won't get that kind of service from a portal that wants to serve up everything from movie showtimes to stock quotes!
We've gotten lots of great feedback from our readers, and some of the best features on this site are a result of suggestions and constructive criticism from all of you. Please keep them coming!
We're not sitting on our laurels (they tend to hurt), so keep an eye out on the home page for more new features to come in the near future...
Please tell your friends, family, neighbors, and anyone else who will listen that the best place for movie information is The BigScreen Cinema Guide! Add it to your Facebook status, give it a digg, and make it the signature in your E-Mail program!
Like our home page says, The BigScreen Cinema Guide is Your guide to what's playing in local movie theaters, all of them!
