Marcus Theatres is one step closer to building a proposed 16-screen movie theater in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. The Business Journal of Milwaukee is reporting that they have closed on the sale of the property in Prairie Lakes, a 107-acre retail and mixed use development, located at the intersection of Highway 151 and Grand Avenue (Highway C).

The last update for this project was back in December 2009, when the City Council approved the project. Marcus agreed to purchase the land in September, after a failed effort to develop a parcel closer to the Marcus Eastgate Cinemas in Madison, Wisconsin, which this project is intended to replace.

According to the article, the new theater is expected to feature a 500-seat UltraScreen theater, three dine-in theaters, and a Zaffiro's Pizzeria.
