Megan Fox Out of "Transformers 3"

Posted on Thursday, May 20th, 2010 8:27 AM by Scott Jentsch

Megan Fox as Mikaela Banes in Transformers: Revenge of the FallenThe Hollywood Reporter is saying that Megan Fox will not reprise her role of Mikaela Banes, the fanboy-magnet and girlfriend of Shia LaBeouf's character, in Transformers 3.

According to the article, Paramount has not picked up her option to appear in the sequel to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and Transformers.

Bay and company now plan to take the story "in another direction," according to insiders, and will cast a new love interest.

By "another direction," one wonders if it means that they actually intend to introduce a plot in the third installment of the toy robot movie. Without Fox, will they be able to find someone willing to be ogled by a camera during long shots panning across her body to satisfy the desires of the PG-13 crowd?

Without Megan Fox, why even bother? Transformers 2 was a complete mess, but at least it still had Megan Fox.

Fox was picking on Michael Bay in public interviews, and that probably didn't sit too well with Mr. Ego.

Megan Fox looked good in the first two movies, but the robots had more developed characters than she did. It was pretty clear that she was just there for eye candy for the teenage boys.
