Gift Shop merchant Amazon.com is offering a $20 discount for today only on the Roku HD Player!
This is a device that you connect to your TV and it allows you to watch videos through Netflix Instant Viewing and Amazon Video on Demand, as well as other services, like the excellent Pandora music service.
Roku first came onto the scene two years ago with the first Roku Netflix Player, and I wrote at that time that it was interesting device, but Netflix Instant Viewing wasn't very impressive at the time, and that was the only thing it could do. As such, I didn't think it was worth the $100 purchase price.
Fast forward to 2010 and Netflix has made some great strides with the functionality and selection in their Instant Viewing feature, and Roku has expanded the functionality of the device to include more services. The $100 price point has stuck, though, and sale prices on this device are rare.
