The Berkeley Cinema in Berkeley Heights, New Jersey closed some time after its shows on Sunday, January 2, 2011.
New Jersey On-Line has an article that says they were notified by a customer who attended a showing of Tron on Sunday, and there was no indication that the theater was closing, but they verified that on Tuesday, the doors were locked, the phone was disconnected, and their web site was shut down. Fortunately, moviegoers in the area have plenty of choices for movie theaters to attend. 17 theaters are located within 10 miles of Berkeley Heights, including some single-screen operations as well as multiplexes.
