Alvarado, TX: Reel Grill Cinema Tavern Opens

Posted on Friday, December 10th, 2010. Last Updated on Friday, January 21st, 2011 2:25 PM by Scott Jentsch

The Reel Grill Cinema Tavern in Alvarado, Texas opened the week of December 10, 2010, according to an article in the Cleburne Times-Review:

The Reel Grill Cinema Tavern, a 21,000-square-foot complex, located at 108 Tulane Ave.,  features activities for the whole family.

“It’s kid-friendly and teenager-friendly,” said Darius Fields, general manager. “They can come here and hang out without being on the streets.”

The Reel Grill has four screens and will show four to five movies at a time. All theaters will offer the latest 5.1 digital sound.

It has a restaurant and sports bar with six flat-screen televisions that can show PowerPoint, DVD, sporting events or multimedia presentations.

Movie-goers can also order food from the restaurant to be delivered to them during the movies. The restaurant opens at 11 a.m. daily, and guests can eat there without purchasing movie tickets.

My family and I were overjoyed at the fact that there is a new theater in Alvarado now. We went tonight expectiong a good time at the movies but all of us came home with headaches. The sound was so loud we had to close it out by putting our fingers in our ears.

I asked two times for them to turn down the sound and they said they did but we could not tell. We had to leave the movie because the sound was unbearable. It ruined the movie and we at this point feel we will not return to the Reel Grill Cinema. Awful experience. If the sound had been outside we could have heard it at our house 2 miles away.
