The Rivertowne 12 Cinemas in Oxon Hill, Maryland is scheduled to open on April 24, 2011 after a few delays. The theater is located in the Rivertowne Commons Mall and was previously the AMC Rivertowne 12, which closed in 2006.
Rivertowne Cinemas 12 is now owned by Spotlight Amusements, which also owns the Eastpoint Movies 10 in Baltimore.
According to a December 23, 2010 article in The Gazette, the theater originally was going to open in January 2011. The Gazette followed up with an article in March that a new opening date had been set for April 1st. Most recently, an April 7th article by The Gazette pegs the theater's opening as scheduled for around April 24th, 2011.
