The Cinemark Stroud Mall in Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania opened today, November 4, 2011. The new 12-screen theater features stadium seating, Digital Cinema Projection systems in all auditoriums (with six of them capable of 3D presentations), and an XD (Extreme Digital Cinema) auditorium with an extra large screen.

The new theater takes the place of the AMC Loews Stroud Mall 7, which closed in December 2010 (see Journal article).

"Our theatre is a newly constructed facility, not just a remodel of the previous theatre at the mall.  We are extremely proud to offer all-stadium seating throughout our 12 digital auditoriums.  Additionally, with the Cinemark XD screen and our six 3D capable auditoriums, we'll be able to bring our customers a variety of film titles and provide them with a choice in how they see Hollywood's latest cutting-edge films, like the highly-anticipated The Twilight Saga:  Breaking Dawn Part 1, Happy Feet Two and Tower Heist."

The first 50 people to purchase a box office ticket today (November 4, 2011) and tomorrow will receive a free Cinemark goody bag. Radio station WCTO CAT Country will be there today from 4pm - 6pm, and tomorrow, WSBG with Jo-Ann George will be there from 1pm - 3pm, and WWYY The Bone will be on-site from 3pm - 6pm.
