The Nordica Theatre in Freeport, Maine will open on Friday, November 18, 2011, according to an announcement made last week by Berenson Associates, the developers of Freeport Village Station where the theater is located.

Among the first movies the theater will play on its six screens are The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 and Happy Feet Two, followed by The Muppets on November 23rd. The theater is operated by Belmont Capital, which also operates the Windham Five Star Cinema 7, the Wells Five Star Cinema 7, and Bangor Mall Cinemas 10.

"We are extremely excited to bring a state-of-the-art cinema to the Greater Portland and Casco Bay area," stated Mark Benvenuto, Vice President of Operations for Belmont Capital, LLC. "Our 6-screen theater will feature all digital projection and audio thus providing the highest quality picture presentation and the richest digital sound. Our patrons will enjoy Hollywood's finest pictures while sitting in the most comfortable seating available today."
