In November 2009, the Le Mars Daily Sentinel reported the sad news that the Royal T III Theatres in Le Mars, Iowa closed, and today, they are reporting that renovations are underway:
Right now, Le Mars' movie theater looks less like a theater and more like a tornado site.Under renovations to become an updated theater, the Royal III is being cleared out to make way for improvements.
The lobby has been gutted -- the walls, ceiling and carpet have been removed. The three auditoriums have a dwindling numbers of theater seats in them, and the old projection equipment is gone.
"Reconstruction will start as early as next week or the first week in February," said Eric Hilsabeck, who purchased the theater earlier this year.
