Here's an interesting promotion from Amazon.com for the upcoming release of Prometheus. If you're one of the first 5,000 to pre-order the movie on Blu-ray, you'll receive a code to redeem for a movie ticket to the movie when it opens in theaters on June 8th:

I've seen plenty of such promotions for related movies, such as "buy Men in Black on Blu-ray/DVD, get a free ticket to Men in Black 3" but this has to be the first time I can recall it being done for the movie that is about to be released in theaters.

There are terms and conditions, of course, so be sure to read through them on the page linked above, but as long as a theater near you accepts Hollywood Movie Money, you should be all set.

I'm not one to buy a movie sight unseen, much less before it has even gotten to theaters, but given Ridley Scott's success with the original Alien, Gladiator, and countless others, and the fact that I've already decided that I'll be seeing Prometheus as soon as possible, I might not be able to resist this offer...
