Starplex Cinemas has announced that their Oklahoma locations will be offering free admission to citizens over the age of 60 when the temps exceed 100 degrees in August.

The "Beat the Heat" promotion will run from August 1, 2012 until August 31, 2012, and the qualifying temperatures will be based on the forecast from the Daily Oklahoman.

Tod Hanna, COO of Starplex Cinemas, stated "With the hottest year on record upon us, we know our theaters are the destination of patrons seeking relief from the heat."

Participating theaters include:

• Starplex Cinemas - Robinson Crossing 6 - Norman, OK
• Starplex Cinemas - Crossroads Movies 8 - Oklahoma City, OK
• Starplex Cinemas - Northpark 7 - Oklahoma City, OK
