This news broke earlier in September, but it escaped our attention until just now. It appears that the animated movie Happy Feet, which was destined to be a simultaneous release in traditional movie theaters and in IMAX 3-D, is now losing its 3-D status.

ComingSoon.net and Movieweb are reporting that there is not enough time to convert the movie into 3-D before the November 17th release date.

This appears to be confirmed by the name change for the movie on the IMAX web site.
