|Home: BigScreen Journal - Ogdensburg, NY: Ogdensburg Cinemas Closes|
The Ogdensburg Cinemas in Ogdensburg, New York closed July 5, 2012, according to an article in the Watertown Daily Times:
The standoff continued Friday between the city and Plattsburgh developer Gilbert J. Jones over his apparent sidestepping of city regulations in putting up a building on his in-progress Riverfront Marina and Hotel property at 119 W. River St.
Mr. Jones said Thursday he was stopping work on the $1.2 million project and closing his Ogdensburg Cinemas at 219 Ford St., all in protest over the city Planning and Development Board’s refusal to approve his building, a 480-square-foot structure on the property he intends to use as a concession stand for boaters.

The theater's Facebook page mentions that they've closed indefinitely for repairs, but the article above indicates that there may be another reason behind it.
