Regal Entertainment Group has acquired Great Escape Theatres, which operated 25 theaters in Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Caroline, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

The company is offering customers that are members of the Great Escape Theaters "Critics Choice" loyalty program a free small popcorn when they exhange their existing cards for a new free Regal Crown Club card. This promotion goes through January 31, 2013. New members will also receive 10 extra credits when they activate their card online, according to the press release.
