|Home: BigScreen Journal - Fort Myers, FL: Edison Park 8 Reopens|
After being closed about three years the Edison Park 8 in Fort Myers, Florida has reopened. The News-Press published an article earlier this week and interviewed the theater's owner:
Miami developer Jay Suarez, who owns the building and the surrounding Edison Park Plaza Center, says he sunk about $2 million into renovations.
Those renovations include a granite-top concession stand, a Dolby Surround Sound system and eight Sony 4K movie projectors. Suarez says those projectors offer twice the picture resolution that you see at most theaters. Half of them can also show 3-D movies.

An article in the Naples News on December 10, 2012 mentioned that the theater will feature the first Sony 4K Digital Cinema Projection system in Southwest Florida.
