The Starplex Cinemas - Boerne Cinemas 11 in Boerne, Texas is scheduled to open February 1, 2013, according to a press release issued by Starplex Cinemas. Boerne is located Northwest of San Antonio.

The new 11-screen movie theater will feature Digital Cinema Projection systems capable of 2D and 3D presentations. One auditorium will be an Intense Digital Experience (IDX), which promises an upgraded experience, with a 4K projector, wall-to-wall and ceiling-to-floor screen, and a sound system they are saying is three times more powerful than that of standard auditoriums (let's hope the adjacent theaters are separated with soundproof walls).

All auditoriums will have extra-wide leather seating with cupholder armrests, and the concession stand will offer expanded choices such as mini corn dogs, pretzels, hand-dipped ice cream, and more.

This is the 23rd location for Starplex Cinemas, which has movie theaters in Texas, Oklahoma, Illinois, Washington, Indiana, Ohio, New Jersey and California.
