The Holiday Cinemas in Frederick, Maryland opens today under the ownership of MDL Entertainment Inc., a family business owned by Jack and Mark Loudin. The Frederick News-Post featured the theater in an article announcing the re-opening of the theater:

Holiday Cinemas, which offer low-cost tickets and family-priced concessions, will re-open Friday, June 1.

The cinemas, located off Baughman's Lane, will be a family-run business. Jack Loudin, who opened the cinemas in 1991 for Neighborhood Entertainment Inc., is now part owner of the business.

His son, Mark and his wife, Debi, daughter Kristina and her fiance, Lonnie McLain, and Mr. Loudin's wife, Mary, will all be involved in the operation of the theater.

The price for movies will be $2.99, with movies shown in the Cinema I, which seats 585 in the famous "rocking chairs", and Cinema II, which seats 330 in traditional seating.

According to CinemaTreasures.org, the Holiday Cinemas opened in 1969. The theater was closed on March 25, 2001 by Regal Cinemas.
