The Galaxy Narrows in Tacoma, Washington closed January 31, 2013, according to an article published in The News Tribune:

It’s curtains for another Tacoma-area movie theater.

The Galaxy Narrows Theater will play its last film Thursday night.

Theater personnel confirmed Monday the multiplex, eight-screen theater at 2208 Mildred St. W. in University Place will join a handful of chain theaters that have closed their doors in the Tacoma area in the last decade.

Moviegoers in Tacoma still have the independent , but for mainstream movies, they'll have to travel outside Tacoma to one of the five other theaters within 10 miles, like the Regal Lakewood 15 in Lakewood or Galaxy Uptown in Gig Harbor.
