|Home: BigScreen Journal - Champaign, IL: Virginia Theatre Restoration Video|
The Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Illinois is undergoing a restoration and they released a video back in April that shows some of their efforts and some of the hidden surprises that they found.
The theater opened December 28, 1921 with a live stage show and the following night, it showed a silent movie, Tol'able David. More recently, it has hosted the late Roger Ebert's Ebertfest every year, celebrating significant works of cinema.
