|Home: BigScreen Journal - Pleasant Hill, CA: CineArts Pleasant Hill Demolished - The Dome is Gone|
The domed CineArts @ Pleasant Hill in Pleasant Hill, California has been demolished, according to a story on the SFGate web site:
The Dome is done.
Despite impassioned pleas from about 150 residents who wanted to save the 46-year-old, space-age CinéArts movie theater by Interstate 680, the Pleasant Hill City Council voted 3-2 early Tuesday to move forward with demolition plans.
They didn't waste time.
On Wednesday morning, within hours of the council decision, work crews began dismantling the Dome, as it's known.
