Posted on Monday, May 27, 2013 and updated on Wednesday, July 3, 2013 4:54 PM

Marcus Theatres logoThe Marcus 20 Grand Cinema in Omaha, Nebraska will be renamed to the Marcus Majestic Cinema after renovations to the theater are completed in July 2013, according to an article published recently by the Omaha World-Herald:

Marcus Theatres has begun an extensive remodeling project at the 20 Grand Cinema, northeast of 144th Street and West Maple Road. When it’s done in early July, the theater will be renamed the Marcus Majestic Cinema.

The project includes replacing seats in all 20 auditoriums with DreamLounger electric recliners and adding extra leg room between rows. When renovations are finished, patrons will be able to reserve a specific seat in any auditorium.

Wider screens are being installed in some auditoriums, and interior walls will be recovered. The recliners already are installed in four auditoriums.

In addition, the new 70-seat Take Five Lounge will serve wine, beer and cocktails, which patrons can take with them to the movies.

A new concession area will include self-serve fountain drinks and feature Zaffiro’s Express, offering handmade thin pizzas, sandwiches, appetizers and more.

A baby grand piano will grace the lobby and lounge area.

The theater’s exterior also will get a fresh new look.

Marcus Cinemas is based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and already has one theater with this name, the Marcus Majestic Brookfield in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

We've renamed the theater to Marcus 20 Grand Cinema (Omaha Majestic) until the renovations are complete, so that both names are familiar in our listings and search engines can begin making the transition as well.
