|Home: BigScreen Journal - Dolby Atmos Indications Added to Showtimes|
About a year after its introduction, Dolby's Atmos™ sound format has gained some traction, with almost 50 movies released in 2013 with Dolby Atmos sound mixes. The number of Atmos-equipped movie theaters has risen from just a handful in the United States to about 80, with more in Canada, Mexico, and worldwide.
These factors add up to the introduction of Dolby Atmos indications on the showtimes, in the same column as the other digital sound formats.
Example of Dolby Atmos indications on the Showtimes page.
Selecting the Atmos logo will take you to information about Dolby Atmos in our Help document titled Digital Sound - Why Does It Matter?
