Theater PhotoThe Cinemark Movie Bistro - El Paso in El Paso, Texas is opening tomorrow, November 15, 2013. The 6-screen movie theater is located in the Sunland Park Mall at I-10 and Sunland Park Drive, in a space that was previously the GC Sunland Park (General Cinema), which closed in 2004.

Cinemark hasn't sent out an official press release yet, but the El Paso Times has an article about the theater's opening:

You want some brisket tacos and a beer with your "Gravity?"

That's exactly what Cinemark is serving up at its new, six-screen Movie Bistro opening Friday inside Sunland Park Mall, 750 Sunland Park Drive, in West El Paso.

The Movie Bistro is Cinemark's new, cinema eatery concept. It offers a wide menu of food, which can be delivered to your theater seat - an overstuffed chair with a slide-out tray. Besides beer, it also sells wine, and cocktails. The traditional fare of popcorn and sodas also are sold there.

[Bryan Jeffries, marketing director for Cinemark] said Cinemark officials decided to do something different when it decided to put a movie theater in what years ago was an AMC Entertainment six-screen theater. It closed in 2004.

The limited space lent itself to the Bistro concept, Jeffries said. The six auditoriums' sizes range from 110 to 170 seats. That's smaller than traditional Cinemark theaters, where some auditoriums have up to 300 seats, he said. The smaller size is needed to make serving food more manageable, he said.

Moviegoers are encouraged to arrive at the Bistro about 30 minutes before a movie showing to allow time for ordering food and drinks and getting orders delivered to patrons' seats before a movie begins. Once a movie starts, a patron has to go to the concession stand to pick up their order so other moviegoers are not disturbed, Jeffries said. A hand pager alerts a patron when their order is ready when a movie is in progress.
