The Lexington Cinema 8 in Lexington, North Carolina reopened to the public on November 15, 2013 according to an article published recently in The Dispatch:

Movie lovers have a new, or rather an old, home now that the Cinema 8 on Talbert Boulevard is open. The movie theater opened Friday, and owner Rob McHone of Rosecrest Entertainment said it was a close call on whether it would happen.

"I finally got the OK to open late Friday afternoon," he said. "My plan had been to open on Friday, but it is always a frustrating thing waiting for someone to approve paperwork. There was a lot of last-minute scrambling."

McHone is still tinkering with the schedule to see what days and times will be the best to service Lexington.He also is still working on renovations. McHone said employees are continuing to clean and make repairs, but he does have some major projects in the works. They have repaired and steam cleaned all the seats and curtains.

He said he would love to replace the older seats with stadium seats and to install larger screens, but he has bigger projects on the slate that take priority. The first of those is a switch to digital projectors.
