The Carmike Westgate Twin in Lenoir, North Carolina closed November 28, 2014. The News-Topic published an article recently about the theater's closure:

The Carmike Westgate Twin theater on Morganton Boulevard in Lenoir closed for good Friday, according to employees who were there packing boxes and loading them into trucks.

Rob Rinderman, a spokesman for Carmike Cinemas, said the company’s lease on the property expired. Carmike had “nothing bad to say about that market in Lenoir,” but it was purely a business decision, he said.

Moviegoers in the area looking for movies on the big screen will need to visit the Marquee Cinemas - Mimosa 7 in Morganton, or one of the other theaters in the area.
