Marcus Westown Cinema - Photo Copyright 2006 SVJ Designs, LLC. All Rights Reserved.In the pre-Christmas blur, I missed a small mention in the latest Marcus Earnings Report that said that they had sold the property that is the site of the Westown Cinema in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

A little digging resulted in a December 19th article in the Milwaukee Business Journal that says that it's most likely that a Gander Mountain store will be located there. Construction will begin once the building is demolished, which is scheduled for March 2007, when the new Marcus Majestic is set to open.

The property sold for $8.9 million, and Marcus stated that its pre-tax gain on the sale was $5 million. That's a lot of popcorn, even at Marcus theater prices!
