|Home: BigScreen Journal - What We're Watching: Who Killed the Electric Car?|
I've written a Reader Review, so I won't repeat the text of that review here, but I gave it a See Now! rating because of the lasting impact it has had on me.
The movie is thought-provoking and even if you take into account any bias the filmmaker might have (all documentaries have some bias), it's plainly evident that we as a public and the environment in general got screwed by political and corporate bureaucratic interests.
In a day when everyone is excited about the prospects of hybrid vehicles and how much gas they can save, how many people know that there was a car that was produced by GM that used no gas whatsoever, that could satisfy the daily needs of a large segment of the public, and was so easy to maintain, the mechanics didn't even get dirty working on it?
Watch "Who Killed the Electric Car?" to get an eye-opening eduction on some very recent history on that topic. Highly recommended!
