The Turner Classic Movies satellite/cable channel is celebrating "31 Days of Oscar" by showing Academy Award-winning movies all month, leading up to the award ceremony held on Sunday, February 25, and extending to Saturday, March 3rd.
Tonight, for example, they are spotlighting "Best Cinematography: Nominees & Winners" with movies such as Funny Face (1957), starring Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire, which was shot by Ray June, and Alfred Hitchcock's To Catch a Thief (1955) starring Cary Grant and Grace Kelly, which won the Cinematography award for Robert Burks.
TCM's web site has the complete line-up for the event, plus tons of trivia, background, and other information which all help to appreciate these great movies.
