It's always easy to spot what the movie studios think is going to be a sure hit that will dominate the box office on a given weekend; the competition avoids the weekend altogether.

Such is the case with "300," the second movie to be based upon a Frank Miller graphic novel (after "Sin City). Except for a small release of "The Ultimate Gift" (which actually looks interesting) and a sneak preview tomorrow of "The Last Mimzy," the movie has the new release box office all to itself.

That's not to say that there aren't any other movies playing, however. "Ghost Rider," "Bridge to Terabithia," and last week's box office champ "Wild Hogs" are all playing on more screens than "300" so you shouldn't have any trouble finding something to see this weekend.
