|Home: BigScreen Journal - Fenton, MO: Wehrenberg Theatres Plans Theater for Gravois Bluffs|
Wehrenberg Theatres is planning to build a new 12-screen theater complex in the Gravois Bluffs shopping area. Completion of "The Gravois Bluffs 12 Cine" is scheduled for Spring of 2008.
Wehrenberg Theatres is expanding to Fenton, MO as an anchor of the popular Gravois Bluffs shopping area. The planned theatre complex will house 12 screens in a free-standing facility at the intersection of Highway 141 and Gravois Rd. The theatre, dubbed The Gravois Bluffs 12 Cine, will be completed in Spring of 2008.
The amazing theatre will feature stadium-seating, dynamic Dolby Digital Sound with sub-bass enhancement, and wall-to-wall screens. Every auditorium also features extra-comfortable “Snuggle Seats,” a Wehrenberg staple. “Snuggle Seats” are plush chairs with movable armrests that allow couples to sit closer during the feature. The seats also rock so guests can lean back comfortably and still have their eyes fixed on the enormous movie screens.
“We’ve been looking at Gravois Bluffs for quite some time,” said Ronald P. Krueger, Chairman and Co-CEO of Wehrenberg Theatres. “Obviously, this shopping area continues to expand, and it truly is one of the best, and most unique, commercial areas in the St. Louis region.”
“Now Playing,” an expanded Family Entertainment Area, will house the most advanced and popular electronic games, such as Dance Dance Revolution. Favorite redemption games will test various skills as well, and offer numerous prizes.
Of course, traditional concessions like hot, buttered popcorn, ice-cold soda and all the favorite candies will be available at the vast concession stand. Free refills will be available on large popcorns and all sizes of sodas.
Guests will also be able to sign up for the Wehrenberg Theatres MVP Card, the card that rewards you just for going to the movies. Guests who purchase tickets and concessions at any Wehrenberg Theatre need only to present their card to earn points. These points can be redeemed for free popcorn, soda and movie tickets. Wehrenberg Theatres are the only theatres in the area awarding points at both box office and concession stands.
GJ Grewe, Inc. is developing the Gravois Bluffs 12 Cine project. TK Architects, who worked on the Town Square 12 Cine in Dardenne Prairie, MO last year, will design the building and interior of the new cinema.
Wehrenberg Theatres currently operates fifteen theatres in Missouri, Illinois and Iowa. New theatres are currently under construction in Bloomington-Normal, IL and Rochester, MN.
Having celebrated its 100th Anniversary in 2006, St. Louis-based Wehrenberg Theatres is the oldest family-owned and operated theatre circuit in the U.S. Ronald P. Krueger, 3rd Generation, Chairman and Co-CEO of Wehrenberg Theatres. Ronald P. Krueger, 4th Generation, President of Theatre Operations.
