In a classy move, Universal Pictures has donated $1.15 million this week toward a memorial to the passengers and crew who perished aboard United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001. They are the production company behind last week's release of United 93.
The Associated Press has a full report, via ABC News:
The studio had promised to contribute 10 percent of the film's total box office revenue to the memorial, which is expected to cost about $58 million to build. The total announced Tuesday represents 10 percent of the opening weekend gross of $11.5 million, and the memorial organizers should have the money by the end of the week, said Michael Moses, an executive at Universal.
