Help Document Updated: Home Theater - Why am I seeing black bars when I watch movies?

Posted on Thursday, June 21st, 2007 6:09 PM. Last Updated on Tuesday, August 28th, 2007 5:29 PM by Scott Jentsch

So, you just bought a new widescreen HDTV, and the sales guy at the big box retailer told you that you wouldn't see any black bars like on your old TV when you watched DVD's. And, the first DVD you put in, there they are, the black bars are still there!

Don't worry, there's nothing wrong with your set, but there may be something wrong with the sales guy at Circuit Barn...

The black bars are a good thing when you're watching movies. I just updated one of the documents in our Help section that covers this very topic. Click the Read link below to read all about why you can stop worrying and love the black bars!
