According to a report by NBC 10 in Cranston, Rhode Island, the Feinstein IMAX Theatre Providence Place in Providence, Rhode Island has been sold to the National Amusements theater chain. National Amusements already operates the Providence Place Cinemas 16 in the mall.
The story quotes the Director of Corporate Communications for National Amusements as saying:
"This was an opportune time to make this acquisition since the movie industry is offering more and more 3-D film options for movie-goers to enjoy, both in Digital 3D and in IMAX 3D"
