Select AMC Theatres will be playing "Best Picture Showcase" - See all 5 contenders in one day - BigScreen Journal: The BigScreen Cinema Guide

On Saturday, February 23, 2008, select AMC Theatres locations around the country will be showing all five movies nominated for "Best Picture" Oscar® by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences.

80 theaters in 35 markets will be playing the "Best Picture Showcase,"which is an all-day pass to see all five movies for $30. A large popcorn with free refills is included in the price. To our knowledge, the FDA has not approved popcorn as being 100% of your daily intake, however.

The Oscar "Best Picture" nominees, “Atonement," "Juno," "Michael Clayton," "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood," will play in one dedicated auditorium back-to-back throughout the day. Upon arrival to the theatre, guests will receive a souvenir lanyard, which will feature artwork from the five nominated films and give guests the freedom to come and go throughout the event as they please.

This is the second year that AMC is doing this; last year's event was the first.
